This small island near Paso de la Patria, next to Toledo Island, features a sandbank behind rocks covered in vegetation, where strong currents become gentle with lower water levels.

This island, called Bird Island, has crystal-clear waters and white sands, and is a popular spot for sport fishing, as the rocks provide hiding places for dorado fish. However, the rocks also pose a danger to boat propellers, as some are barely covered by water.

You can reach the island in 15-20 minutes by boat from Paso de la Patria, crossing the Toledo Island creek. From there, you can see the Itatí Basilica on the horizon.

Caution is advised, as this area is not officially designated, so each visitor must take their own safety measures. In front of the island is a small group of rocks called Palo Cagado, where many birds (mbiguás) rest and leave their droppings. Between the two formations is a five-meter-wide strait with a strong current, making it a dangerous area.
